Booking a Perseverance trip

Want to book a trip ? Follow the guide :

  1. Contact us by e-mail or by phone, indicating the trip and the date you are interested in.
  2. We will indicate you the existing availabilities and will send you a quote. The quote will be accompanied by the T&Cs (possibly the medical questionnaire, depending on the trip).
  3. Once the quote is signed, your reservation is effective! You will receive a confirmation and we will come back to you 1 month before the beginning of your trip to send you the travel booklet.

Optionally, we can also take care of your flight reservations.

How to pay

The price is announced per person for a double cabin. The supplement for a private cabin is 75%.

The customer agrees to respect the payment conditions of the contractual documents validated at the time of the reservation or as defined in the GTC if not different: 

payment of 30% of the price of the cruise within a maximum of 7 days after the reservation
payment of 50% of the price of the cruise 6 months before the departure date of the cruise
payment of 20% of the price of the cruise 2 months before the departure date of the cruise
A call for funds will be sent to you for each payment request.

What payment methods are available?

During your trip on the boat, payment by credit card will be available on board.

For the booking of your trip, payment will be made by bank transfer.

Where can I get my travel contract, my invoice, my documents ?

All documents will be sent to you by e-mail.

We can be reached at any time via info@bateauperseverance.com.

Do I have to take out insurance?

The price of the cruise does not include insurance.

We advise you to take out insurance to cover the risks of cancellation, assistance, repatriation, damage and loss of luggage and medical expenses. These optional insurance contracts must be taken out with an external insurance company independent of Perseverance.

Equipment

Clothing Advice:

Depending on your sensitivity to the cold, you should choose clothing that protects you from water and wind. Choose materials such as fleece that insulate better from the cold than cotton. To keep warm, wear several light layers of clothing rather than just one.

  • Waterproof jacket/parka with hood (choose a techwear category such as Gore-Tex or Sympatex)
  • Waterproof windbreaker and overtrousers
  • Sweatshirt/sweater/fleece jacket
  • Warm and waterproof pants
  • Thermal underwear made of merino wool
  • Thick socks (preferably woolen)
  • Mittens and/or gloves that can be used together for optimal protection
  • Hat, balaclava and neck warmer (avoid scarves that don't stay in place)
  • Waterproof, non-slip rubber boots for trips into undeveloped terrain or icy water
  • Sturdy hiking boots

  • Toiletries (don't forget to choose products suitable for air travel and cruising)
  • Sunglasses
  • Swimsuit / wetsuit
  • Hat / cap
  • Binoculars (highly recommended to enjoy the panorama)

Tips & Formalities

Your vaccinations

We advise you to check as soon as possible that your vaccinations are up to date for the countries you will visit.

These vaccines concern the Covid but also other diseases, such as yellow fever and others.

Visa and ID 

In order to verify the documents you will need to travel and the formalities to be completed for your trip, we advise you to consult the governmental website: https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr

Medical formalities

Your safety is our absolute concern. We respect very strict measures.

The ship is equipped with an infirmary with a medical staff dedicated to first aid and emergencies on board. There is no doctor on board, however the crew has undergone medical training which allows them, in relation with a remote doctor, to provide care in emergency situations. 

Our trips are not adapted to people with reduced mobility (reduced mobility, severe visual impairment, treatment requiring regular major medical intervention) due to the configuration of the ship and the trips.

For polar expeditions, a medical questionnaire will be sent to you and you will have to have it completed by your doctor in order to attest to your medical aptitude to take part in the trip.

If you have no particular physical or medical constraints, the trip should not pose any problem. 

Diet

If you have a special diet, please inform us at least 30 days before the start of the trip. We will adapt the catering on board to your needs.

Luggage on board

On board the ship, there is no weight or luggage limit per person.  However, the weight limit will be the one indicated by your airline (usually 23kg/person but could be 15kg/person).
